Hunting Retriever Seminar by Bill Hillmann – July 26-27 at Stillroven Farm

MHGRC in conjunction with Colorado Flat Coated Retriever Enthusiasts is hosting a hunting retriever seminar by Bill Hillmann for anyone that is interested in or has entered retriever hunt tests, GRCA WC/WCX tests, or field trial competition.  It will be held July 26th-27th at Stillroven Farm (17629 County Road 5, Berthoud, CO).  Bill will be sharing his training methods and secrets.   While owners of dogs at all levels will benefit from this seminar, specific focus will be on retrievers and handlers in the basics and transition stages.  For this reason, it is an excellent seminar for those new to hunt or WC/WCX tests as well as those who at the Senior and Master level.  To illustrate specific concepts and drills, Bill will be working throughout the course of the seminar with various dog/handler teams in attendance.  He has guaranteed us that he’ll be able to work the thirty dogs in attendance at least once during the two day seminar.   When a dog/handler will work depends on your questions and the area of interest you note in your application.  So be sure to specify areas that you are having troubles or want more guidance and let him know which one is most important to you.

For MHGRC members, the discounted cost of the two day seminar is $200 per member (one dog per person).  This price does not include lunch so please plan on bringing your own food and drinks.  As club members have early registration priority until May 1st, completed your application and send it to Francie Pusateri.   Space is limited so get your RSVP and application to Francie soon!

The application will be available on MHGRC’s web and Yahoo Group pages.  If you cannot access it, please email Sally Sjobeck if you’d like me to mail it directly to you.

For more information about Bill and his training methods, please go to his website http://billhillmann.net

Welcome! The Mile-Hi Golden Retriever Club is a group of Golden Retriever fanciers that was first organized in the Denver area in 1966. Our goals are to encourage and promote the breeding of pure-bred Golden Retrievers and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection; to urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by The American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Golden Retrievers shall be judged; to do all in our power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trials, agility trials, hunt tests and field trials; and to conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows, obedience trials, agility trials, and field trials under the rules of The American Kennel Club.
